Zine Project Artist Statement

For this project, I really wanted to combine two passions of mine: graphic design and music. Creating logos, editing existing images and designing “cartoon” like drawings of performers allowed me to express these two passions. Photoshop has always been my preferred medium as far as graphic design is concerned, so creating in that program was very satisfying and enjoyable and I think the pieces I created from there are extremely strong. Illustrator has always been a program that I steer away from just due to a personal preference so working more in it allowed for me to test my skills and enhance my artistic capabilities. Creating art that is of interest to me allows for me to truly care and put my best effort into the creative process and was very rewarding when looking at the end result. This zine project was exceedingly fun and I see myself creating more whenever I have the chance to do so.
